QLD: Beattie backs DNA testing but says there are grey areas

BRISBANE, Jan 21 AAP - Queensland Premier Peter Beattie today backed the use of DNAtesting but admitted there were grey areas within the legislation which needed reviewing.
Queensland police want a DNA sample from ATSIC deputy chairman Ray Robinson who hasbeen charged with two counts of fraud involving cheques from an Aboriginal housing company.
Mr Beattie said he made no apologies for the DNA laws his government introduced despitecriticism from civil libertarians.
